Out the Garage is a band formed by Marc and Alec Letarte, two brothers from the far reaches of Northern Ontario.  Although the band had its formal beginning in Calgary, where it would first be rounded out as a four-piece, the brothers had been dreaming it up since long before then.

Upon going their separate ways for university they both began writing songs and playing with anyone they could.  For a while, they played together in Ottawa and then again in South Korea, where they first began to craft songs together, blending their sounds.

It wasn’t until 2005 that Marc and Alec settled down in Calgary and began to search for the missing parts of the band.  They added Ryan Brun on Bass and Joel Briggs on Drums, and Out the Garage was born.

A few months later they began recording their debut EP, which was released in August 2007.  Ryan and Joel have since been replaced by Patrick Rodrigues and Mike Abbott respectively and the band is currently planning their first video and their next album, another EP with a probable summer of 2008 release date.

Although vocals and “You My Today” were subsequently recorded in Marc’s Calgary apartment, the bulk of the EP was recorded over a 24-hour period in a karate dojo in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.  If you listen closely you can hear the creaking of the dojo floor.
